What’s the best guitar for playing metal leads? June 15, 2009

I’ve had my Ibanez RG Series for about 4 years now, and it’s good for riffs, but I don’t like it’s sound for playing leads. I think my pedal is ok. It’s a DigiTech RP100. What’s the best guitar for metal style leads in your opinion?

Any guitar, you have to know how to play it. Maybe you should looking at a new amp if you’re equipment buying.

The RG should be fine – it has humbuckers so it’s driving the amp enough. The weak link is probably the amp you’re using. Even using a pedal like the RP, the gain on the amp has to be cranked – and the power section has to be up enough to load the speakers to get a good lead sound.

I like fenders, always
