this person is in London, and offered a Mercedes, like new for 1/5 of going rate as it is left hand steering wheel, while England uses rt hand. That seems like poor excuse for such low cost. I am trying to protect nephew in Germany from scam.

Basically you can’t. With a free email address it is generally unable to be traced or to get information the person holding the account has not made public. You recognize the old adage “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t.” If your nephew doesn’t, there isn’t much you can do except warn him.
