I have an old brass lighter that I get tired of polishing, how can I keep it shiny through daily handling?

I can polish it fine with some brasso, of course, but since it comes into constant contact with my hands it tends to get tarnished. Is there any way to keep it looking nice without polishing it so often? I’ve heard some floor polishes etc work nicely, can anyone speak from experience?
